Arrival on Alp Imbrig

Alp Imbrig

Later than usual - as it is the case in almost all places this year - transhumance started on Alp Imbrig on Saturday, June 12. The long wait was rewarded with excellent weather as the Jordi family - young and old - arrived on the Alp after the hike from Zäziwil.

The cows put on a good pace, in anticipation of the "food" they know to find up there. Even Lena, the daughter of Martin and Karin Jordi, enjoyed the trip.

Ruedi and Margrit Jordi, the grandparents, still do the cheesemaking and take care of the restaurant. They had refurbished the corner of the dairy: "Part of the wood was rotten", says Margrit, "and the refurbishing allowed for an additional window. So we enjoy more daylight in the dairy."
